Putnam Math Competition Problems Abstract: The objective of the Math Competition Problem (MCP) is to construct a set of solutions to the MCP by solving a problem with the desired classes of solutions. In particular, the goal is to find the solutions to the objective 1 or 2 of the problem. In this paper, we focus on the real-valued problem of finding the solutions to 1 or 2. We show that the objective of the MCP can be reduced to a linear least square problem. The minimum objective is solved in order to find the solution to the objective 3.
